What is bamboo spider mite?

Bamboo spider mite (Schizotetranychus celarius) is an important pest in commercial bamboo nurseries. Mites feed on a dense, protective webbing so are difficult to control by conventional means. In some areas this mite limits commercial production of bamboo. Fortunately a relatively new miticide called Floramite is available to combat this difficult pest .
